Dry Pailing with Laundry Bags

Dry Pailing with Laundry Bags

How to dry pail cloth nappies?

There used to be an argument for wet pail vs dry pail, although now it is much more common to dry pail, it simplifies the process and reduces the chance of ammonia build-up.

Dry pailing is the process of holding your used cloth nappies without water until you are ready to prewash, soaking the nappies for long periods to avoid smells has been proven to have detrimental effects on the elastics of your cloth diapers.

There is no correlation between dry pail and increased stains, if you have an adequate wash routine then most stains will be removed over time. You can find out more by googling ' clean cloth nappies dry pail '.

The key for using a dry pail for cloth nappies is to keep the airflow around the nappies to reduce any odour build up. Tyopical dry pails will have a bucket with a lid which is not very efficient to keep airflow circulating. Caged baskets are better here but still take up floor or bench space.

Our laundry bags have been specifically designed for this purpose, PUL fabric is breathable with micro-perforations in the laminate - part of the brilliance of modern cloth nappies. When hanging the laundry bags, the smell is dissipated more efficiently than a bucket with its lid off. So even if you have a small space or using in a kitchen laundry, you won't have to deal with compounded smells.

We think our laundry bags are the best dry pail for cloth diapers for those with small spaces as they can be hung on the wall, they are light, can go in with your wash, and don't take space up on the laundry floor!
